Chiara Lubich Centre is founded |

The General Assembly of the Focolare Movement arrived to a decision concerning the construction of a cultural centre called: the Chiara Lubich Centre.Its purpose will be to conserve and make available, to the whole movement and to the public, now and in the future, the extremely rich patrimony, of letters, talks, documents, and audio and video recordings, that Chiara left during her life.There are 8,000 video recordings and 22,000 audio recordings that conserve the movement’s important moments, and speeches given by Chiara on variety of occasions. The work of cataloguing hundreds of paper files of talks, letters and documents had already begun several years ago.Eli Folonari, Chiara’s personal secretary for over 50 the years, was granted the management of the centre.
