The city of Beit-Sahour welcomed his Beatitude Patriarch Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem in his first Solemn Entrance, after his new post as the Latin-rite Patriarch of Jerusalem, and the entire diocese of Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Cyprus. Fr. Faisal Hijazeen, Latin parish of Beit Sahour, headed the welcoming delegates along with Mr. Salah Alta'mari, governor of Bethlehem, Hani Alhayek, mayor of Beit-Sahour, and his Vice Issam Banourah, together with representatives of other Christian churches and civil authorities, and groups of faithful from Beit Sahour, and all were preceded by the Latin and the Orthodox Scouts playing religious and popular Palestinian songs.The celebration was held in the convent's hall, where Fr. Hijazin addressed a speech, praising the fraternal-relationship between Moslems and Christians in the Holy Land. Mr. Hayek, the mayor of the city, presented a gift to the Patriarch from the presidents of institutions, an expression of gratitude and appreciation to him.The Patriarch in his speech, expressed his deep gratitude and the overwhelming touch he felt from their warm welcoming to him, and he also acclaimed the spirit of cooperation among all the religious and civil authorities.His Beatitude assured that the church is standing with the Palestinian people and supporting the strong presence of the Christians Palestinians in the Holy Land.  In the evening, his beatitude presided a mass in the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, concelebrated with him were Mons. Kamal Bathish, the Latin Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem, and a priests.
